As the electoral fervor intensifies, the first phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections is set to commence on April 19, covering 102 constituencies across 21 states and Union Territories (UTs). Here’s a glimpse of the constituencies and some key candidates in Phase 1:

States and UTs in Phase 1: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.

Key Candidates in Phase 1:

1. Nitin Gadkari (Maharashtra): Seeking a third consecutive victory from Nagpur, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is contesting against prominent contenders.

2. Jitin Prasada (Uttar Pradesh): The Pilibhit constituency in UP sees a significant electoral battle with Jitin Prasada now representing the BJP.

3. Tamilisai Soundararajan (Tamil Nadu): Former Telangana Governor and BJP candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan is contesting from Chennai South.
